I’m feeling pretty celebratory right now. Just two months ago, I decided on a whim to start a series about ratchet vampires taking over sports. Ruthless, and deliciously iniquitous immortals who push the boundaries of our decency and principles. I must admit, I had no clue it would be this much fun. 😉
I’ve been crunching pretty hard to get these out and ensure they are action-packed enjoyable reads. My schedule now involves working during the day, getting up sometimes in the middle of the night when I can’t sleep, and writing for about two hours. Last night, as I published to the platforms and distributed to my newsletter followers, I was up until 2 a.m. and got back up at 6 a.m. for work. I edited the first novella over the weekend. I stop to do house chores, go out to eat with the boyfriend (brunch was not great), and to shop a little (fall is my fave season and I haven’t shopped all year so…).
So the write/edit/publish/repeat cycle is indeed fun because I love writing, but definitely not easy. Not between this and my work as a professional. I notice that some writers are great at keeping a chart of their schedule and can cite how many hours exactly they spent doing each thing (5 hours writing and how many words per hour written, 2 hours editing, 1.5 hours on social media). I don’t track my time that hard, but maybe I should. So I can become more efficient, and as a result, more prolific.
My goal is to publish the next novella either tonight or tomorrow, and a third one next week. Here is the cover for the next one! Gotta go now. I already feel myself crashing for the night.
